NUST rector engineer Muhammad Asghar informed Mayaudon about research and innovation at the university and spoke briefly about the motivation behind the creation of CIPS. This was followed by presentations given by CIPS faculty member Dr Zahid Shahab Ahmed and Rabia Shoiab Ahmad, director of the Corporate Advisory Council.

Mayaudon spoke of EU collaboration with Pakistan, specifically mentioning Horizon 2020, which aims to support a range of projects in security and science and technology. He said that there was great potential for the EU and CIPS to work together in security sector projects and suggested that the new framework programme could be launched through a roadshow at NUST.
