Arezzo Seco nominated for IRP

The European Commission created the Innovation Radar Prize to recognise and reward high potential innovations in research and development.

Of those in the running is Italian technology company Arezzo Seco, which is the only Italian candidate in the ‘Horizon 2020 ICT Innovator’ category.

Seco president Daniele Conti said: “Being selected for this award is an honour and proof that we Italians can win the European calls for Technology and Innovation.”

Seco specialises in the production of embedded computers and has been selected as a member of the modern and dynamic property and construction consultancy (AXIOM) project, co-ordinated by Professor Roberto Giorgi of University of Siena, Italy.

The project, beginning in February 2015 and lasting three years, aims to design and produce a new, low-cost, high-performance computing card that is expandable, easy to program, modify and improve.

All this is made possible due to EU funding of almost €4m through the Horizon 2020 programme, which is investing almost €80bn in companies and research groups for the period 2014-2020.

Innovation Radar Prize winners will be decided by members of the public who, throughout the month of August, will be able to vote online for their favourite.

The final of the competition will be held on 26 September in the Slovakian capital Bratislava.
