H2020 launches online application for Eurostars

A new online application system will be launched under Horizon 2020 for the EU’s Eurostars programme. It’s hoped the new system will support the new simpler procedures introduced under the next framework programme.

Starting from 2014, all applications will be submitted via online forms. Applicants will be able to update and save information in their application forms on the Eurostars website, instead of a separate document, and complete applications received before the cut-off date will be accepted for evaluation. The system will allow for more interaction between project applicants and Eurostars project officers, permitting a quicker response time to the questions of the applicants.

The application form will be constructed to promote concise but comprehensive answers, justifications and descriptions from the applicants. Expected economic impact and assessment of market risks will be re-emphasised to highlight their relative importance and underscore Eurostars as a market-oriented research programme.

It’s hoped a new contact details registration tool will assist organisations involved in several applications.

Horizon 2020 will build upon the current Eurostars programme and is dedicated to assisting innovative SMEs. Eurostars will be included in the next research and innovation framework programme through a joint EU-EUREKA programme. The next Eurostars funding call is scheduled to take place in 2014. Further information on the calls will be announced following the re-launch of Eurostars on 30 October 2013 in Brussels.
