Nobel Prize winners to attend Euroscience Open Forum

It’s been announced that Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009, will attend the Euroscience Open Forum 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The GN Ramachandran Professor at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore will discuss the relationship between science and society with four other Nobel laureates: Ada Yonath of the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel; Daniel Kahnemann of Princeton University, United States; Serge Haroche, Collège de France; and Brian Schmidt, Australian National University.

Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, and Jan Gehl, founding partner of Gehl Architects, will also be present and will discuss the development of global research and innovation.

The aim of the Euroscience Open Forum is to “build bridges between science and society” and “to make sure young people in particular become more interested in science and innovation”. Horizon 2020 Projects will be attending the conference in Copenhagen, set to take place between 21-26 June 2014.
