Town body launches knowledge seminars

The Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) has launched a European Knowledge Exchange seminar series to help exploit EU funding opportunities and share policy best practice.

The seminar series focuses on gaining an understanding of European funding opportunities whilst harnessing an opportunity to share knowledge and learning. Attendees will also be able to meet potential project partners.

Commenting on the announcement, TCPA chief executive Kate Henderson said: “At a time of ongoing and deepening budget cuts, councils need to be innovative about how they access finance and gain knowledge and training. This timely seminar series provides a fantastic opportunity for council officers and councillors to learn about EU-funded projects based on the TCPA’s experience of being lead partner in four EU projects involving 15 different EU Member States and 30 different municipalities.”

She added: “Councils will gain an understanding of how to get involved in European projects, the funding streams available, and how these projects can benefit the future of local communities. They will also provide the opportunity to share ideas about future projects and meet potential project partners.”

The three European Knowledge Exchange Seminars will take place in London during the autumn and winter; more information can be found here.
