Conference centres on COPD H2020 research

A major health conference will take place in November focusing on patient involvement in Horizon 2020. The event will take place to help mark World COPD Day 2013.

The conference, entitled ‘World COPD Day 2013: What role for diseases and patients in shaping Horizon 2020 – A COPD case study of patient involvement’ will take place in Brussels and will allow participants to better understand how Horizon 2020 will benefit research and how to apply for EU funds to support their research into Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or other diseases.

The one-day event will be organised by The European COPD Coalition (ECC) and European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients Associations (EFA). It will focus on COPD, a long-term lung and airways disease that is currently uncurable. The disease causes wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and other symptoms.

The event will also report EFA’s publication on Minimum Standards of Care for COPD Patients in Europe and will present findings of a questionnaire completed by patient associations across Europe.
